This year your Cooperative will be focusing most of its resources towards completing the first version of the blueprint and implementing the testing and revision process for the natural resource indicators and targets. Science funding contributed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the U.S. Geological Survey will support projects to test terrestrial, aquatic, and marine indicators and targets. In addition we will support three additional projects important for development and refinement of the blueprint. One will be a post doc position working with Cooperative staff to provide modeling capacity. Another will complete the small dams and obstructions component of the aquatic connectivity project funded through our 2012 Request for Proposals. Lastly is a project to expand the assessment of habitat change from the 7 SALCC terrestrial ecosystems to the 49 ecological systems that are nested within them. Contracting for each of these projects is being finalized and the projects will likely start in late summer.
