We had a great turnout for our two Blueprint development workshops held in Raleigh, NC on October 22nd & 23rd. About fifty folks attended each day. The workshops provided the opportunity to identify locations and conservation actions within the South Atlantic LCC geography that will be needed to sustain natural and cultural resources into the future. Participants worked in groups organized around several sub-regions as well as a group looking at the entire South Atlantic landscape. Geospatial data on landscape level threats and natural and cultural resource indicators were available to inform the groups’ work.
The next two workshops are in Savannah, GA on November 19th and 20th. You will be able to see and comment on the results from all the workshops by December. The information from all the workshops will inform version 1.0 of your Cooperative’s Conservation Blueprint, which is scheduled to be completed by March 2014. More details about the Blueprint development process can be found on Rua’s blog.
