This month the indicator revision process will take on the marine ecosystem. Just like last month, the focus will primarily be on revising or replacing indicators that have clearly failed one of the practical criteria for indicators (They cannot be modeled based on current data and existing projects).
As many of you that work in the marine environment know, this ecosystem is particularly tricky and the South Atlantic marine region is the most data poor marine areas in the entire country. If you were part of the original marine indicator selection effort, you’ll remember that this was the ecosystem most likely to see major revisions during the revision process. That means this will be a good time for creative and practical thinking about how to spatially depict the integrity of this very important ecosystem.
